RYA Powerboat Advanced Course

Advanced Powerboat Course.

A two day course for those already with experience with Powerboating. It is essential to have completed the RYA navigation theory course, the radio course and the Intermediate course beforehand. The course is based in Neyland marina, where there are spectacular views of the marina and waterway. The practical will be from our own high speed rib called Dragonhawk and our hard boat Predator, which are both based at the marina.

The night passage leaves at dusk, with a passage planned down the Haven towards St Anns Head. Here you will identify the lights on either side of the boat as we travel down.
A passage plan will be needed for a days passage, which will take us to another port. Blind navigation is also explained and a passage to a safe haven is expected under limited visibility, using pilotage, GPS, charts etc. Both hard boat and the rib would both be used. Min age 17 years.
