Coastal Conversion.

In addition to Level 2. Covering navigation, chart work, rough water, weather, GPS, position finding, poor vis. The course will cover one or two days which will include some rough water boat handling. We will be taking a more detailed look at weather, GPS and navigation.
The course will include a passage plan to another port, so some experience in navigation is essential. This course is ideally suited for someone wanting to gain more experience at sea and be able to navigate back to port in limited visibility.
Passage will include a passage through Jack Sound or around St Anns Head where there are overfalls and large swells, making it very interesting!
Min age 16 years.

One Day Course.

Passage planning and navigation, with lectures covering weather, safety at sea, rough water boat handling, GPS, and lights / sound signals. Practicle boat work will involve a trip along the coastline to another port, including rough water handling.

Two Day Course.

A more comprehensive course, which covers many topics and prepares you for the next step which is the Advanced course.
Topics covered are; weather, navigation, GPS, passage planning, rough water handling, surf and tides, emergencies at sea, fire at sea, radio, towing, poor vis, lights and regulations, position fixing and a night passage.

Powerboat Course Coastal Conversion...Two day course.

We have a two day course for those wishing to gain more experience in Power Boat handling, which includes preparation towards the advanced course. Both hard boat and ribs will be used, with Predators electronics providing useful aids in navigation and radar. Some of the topics covered on the course are as follows,
